What we do

Services & Techniques

Manual, drug-free chiropractic care drawing on a range of techniques built up over six decades of practice at 37 Geelong Road.

What is chiropractic?

Done by hand. Natural and drug free.

Chiropractic is from the Greek words meaning "done by hand." Chiropractic care is a safe, natural and drug-free way to relieve pain, rehabilitate injuries and improve the symptoms of a broad range of conditions.

It focuses on the relationship between the spine and the nervous system, and the effect that relationship has on overall health. Where other approaches might reach for medication, chiropractic works with the body's own capacity to recover — through precise, hands-on adjustment and a program of care tailored to the individual patient.

At Footscray Chiropractic Clinic, every consultation is unhurried. We listen, we assess, and we adjust. In most cases, adjustments don't hurt at all — many patients find them immediately relieving.

Our techniques

Hands-on, matched to your needs

Our core strength is manual, by-hand spinal adjustment. We draw on a full suite of techniques to suit every patient — from infants to the elderly.

Diversified Adjustment

The most widely used chiropractic technique — a precise, by-hand high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust applied to a specific spinal segment to restore mobility and reduce nerve irritation.

Gonstead Technique

A systematic, full-spine analysis and specific adjustment method that identifies and corrects vertebral subluxations with precision. Widely respected for its specificity.

Activator Method

A gentle, instrument-assisted technique using a hand-held Activator tool to deliver a controlled, low-force adjustment. Often preferred by patients who want a softer approach or for certain presentations.

Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT)

A whole-body structural approach that addresses the relationship between the sacrum and the occiput (base of the skull) — including the pelvis, spine and cranial structures.

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Fine needles are placed into muscular trigger points — areas of local muscle contraction and tenderness — to reduce pain, muscle tension and referred symptoms.

Cranial Adjustments

Gentle manipulation of the cranial bones and surrounding tissues — often used in conjunction with SOT — addressing patterns that can contribute to headache, jaw tension and neurological symptoms.

Soft Tissue Therapy

Manual treatment of muscles, tendons and ligaments — releasing adhesions, reducing inflammation and preparing the surrounding soft tissue to support spinal correction.

Exercise, Ergonomic & Nutritional Advice

A chiropractic adjustment works best when supported by good movement habits and posture. We provide exercise advice, rehabilitation programs, ergonomic guidance and nutritional support tailored to your condition.

Infants & Children

Special gentle techniques for infants and children — adapted in force, direction and approach to the developing body. Families have brought their newborns, toddlers and school-age children to this practice for generations.
